Catawba Riverkeeper

(From the April 24th, 2021 Program, Segment 2)

The Catawba Riverkeeper is the non-profit advocate for the “hardest working river in America”:  the Catawba/Wateree River Basin.

8,900 miles of water is under their coverage with 3 million residents living in the 26-counties that are included.

In order to keep people close to the water they sponsor trips, camps, clean ups from the mountains to Congaree National Park & the Executive Director, John Searby, joins the Carolina Outdoors for this educational segment.

There are a lot of opportunities to participate.  In the summer stop by Jesse Brown’s and grab some Patagonia Baggies Shorts & a water bottle for their Thursday night paddle series this summer & check out the opportunities for other outings online.
