Carolina PAWS – Dogs & Cats With Robin Gribble

Carolina PAWS (Pet Animal Welfare Services) was put together by concerned pet lovers over ten years ago.  The help coordinate adoptions for dogs and cats (that’s canines and felines for those that like big words) in the Charlotte & surrounding area.

Robin Gribble has been a foster parent & volunteer.  In this segment she talks about the process, less popular breeds, & certain requirements for owning a pet.

Plus, remember a hike with a dog or cat can always add to companionship & fun.


Outward Bound & NCOBS

Many times when you hear a certain name you think of a specific activity.  For many, when you hear Outward Bound you immediately think of hiking, backpacking, climbing & camping.  However this famed experiential educational school has a deeper purpose.

Our guest, Alexys J. Taylor comes onto the program to talk about self-improvement, team dynamics, leadership & social responsibilities that also are worked on within the largest & one of the most successful Outward Bound schools, NCOBS.

Taylor is the Charlotte Program Coordinator for NCOBS & oversees The Charlotte Educators Course, The Dalton Scholarship & The Unity Project.  She has a unique perspective after acting as a member of the Charlotte Advisory Board, Program Committee Chair & a graduate of the Unity Project as a student at Vance High School in 2008.

Jesse Brown’s is an outfitter for Outward Bound, The Unity Project & NCOBS, & is excited to be working on the upcoming adventure trips for 2021.


From Spectator to Participant–Ed Billick Goes Hiking

Community Focus host on WBT, Ed Billick, joins the Carolina Outdoors to talk sports & his latest  personal adventure.

New quarterbacks for the Carolina Panthers & the Wells Fargo Championship are a quick topic before the Outdoor Guys from Jesse Brown’s talk with Billick about hiking with family.

Where the Billick family headed (Grandfather Mountain area) & how they prepared?  What was the reward?  How they felt afterward?
