The Carolina Panthers New Season in ’24/’25 with broadcaster Sharon Thorsland

Segment 3, September 7th, 2024

When Sharon Thorsland was last on the Carolina Outdoors, the topic was the personality of the team.  We had a new coach (Frank Reich), we had a new QB in Bryce Young, & there was a fresh energy to the franchise.
Thorsland joins host Bill Bartee to share her view of the current team.  She has been a part of the Carolina Panthers broadcast team for the past 25 years.  This has given her a view of the Panthers in several iterations.  From coaches, to players, to ownership the personalities have changed.
Show Highlights:

  • Coach Canales is 43-years old & partly brought in to mentor QB Bryce Young
  • Canales was introduced as the new coach with new GM Dan Morgan.  Morgan stated that he was after new “Dogs” on the team.
  • Additions to offensive line and receiver core to shore up Young’s support
  • He’s the 7th non-interim coach in the franchise history
  • Goal is to get Young to release the ball in 2.7 seconds or less
  • Jadaveon Clowney joins the defense to mentor, teach, & impact the Panthers ability to stop the pass & run

Things You’ll Learn by Listening:
Thorsland’s main stops in cities during away games is dinner in a nice restaurant or maybe a walk on a beach in a coastal city.  Work demands do not allow her to enjoy many adventures when in New Orleans, Las Vegas, Philadelphia, or Chicago in the 2024/2025 season.  However, she is especially interested in the overseas trip to Munich, Germany, to play the New York Giants.

The Carolina Outdoors is powered by the great dove hunting brands like Tundra 45 YETI, Turtlebox Speakers, & a pair of Duckhead pants from the  Charlotte fly shop, Jesse Brown’s.
