The SouthPark Municipal District was created by the City of Charlotte in 2022. The goal was to help manage & maintain the successful shopping, business, restaurant, residential, & entertainment district within the city. This is also the home of Carolina Outdoor sponsor, Jesse Brown’s. Host Bill Bartee recently spoke with President/CEO Adam Rhew of SouthPark Community Partners about the area, the changes, & transportation, trails, & green space in the area.

- SouthPark began in 1970 with the building of the Southpark Mall. It is now owned by Simon Properties.
- The Loop is a 3-mile walking and biking path to help connect the area together, including being able to connect to Greenways outside of the SouthPark District.
- The area began as a rural area, became suburban, & is now urbanizing. Management is important to help keep the great qualities of this area intact.

- Symphony Park is the largest green space in the district. It hosts SouthPark after Five, Pops in the Park, & several other entertainment opportunities to be together as a community.
