Providence Road Corridor

Charlotte is everchanging.  The Carolina Outdoors has existed and covered the Carolinas and beyond for a long time.  During this segment we head to the Providence Road Corridor at Queens/Queens, Providence/ Providence Road area with Charlotte History Project founder, Christopher S. Lawing.

Show Highlights:
  • This area included the Manor Theater, Myers Park Hardware, & the Buttercup
  • The roadway splits Myers Park and Eastover neighborhoods
  • Mecklenburg Furniture is becoming a training center of Charlotte Pipe and Foundry
  • The 250th Anniversary of the Meck Deck (May 20th, 1775)

The corridor travels between Queens University and Novant/Presbyterian Hospital.
