Asheville Hiking Tours with Jenny Gruhn

Segment 3, June 24th, 2023

Asheville NC is one of the trendiest cities in the southeast with music, brew pubs, restaurants, & resorts, but it is also one of the best areas for nature, hiking, waterfalls, & more.   For many of us, we don’t know where to go, what we’re seeing, & what was here before us.  That’s where Jenny Gruhn & her guides come into play.

She’s the founder, owner, operator, ecotour guide & lead naturalist of Asheville Hiking Tours, Jenny Gruhn.

Gruhn gives listeners to the Carolina Outdoors a breakdown of how western North Carolina is different from other places that she has worked, studied, and lived.  Her quick answer is the bio-diversity compared to her time studying ecology in South America, the high mountain growth of the Rocky Mountains, and the pine forests of Nevada.

The hikes, trips, and small groups are made up of a mix of locals and tourists that are looking for an experience, exercise, & history of the area.
Things that are required are closed toed shoes, water, snacks, and a willingness for adventure.

Popular are the waterfall hikes, the firefly tours, and the elk in the fall.
