Foothills Trail & the FTC Conservancy https://foothillstrail.org/ are on the program this week with executive director Heyward Douglas. There are several long trails that have gained fame through hikes, books and film. There is of course the AT that travels N/S for almost 2200 miles, there is the PCT that bookends the west but did you know that we have a 77 mile gem right here in the Carolinas? The upcountry of SC boasts the foothills trail that goes from Oconee State Park to Table Rock State Park & we learn about the trail, its history, the state parks that bookend it & the waterfalls and Lake Joccassee.
