Exactly a year ago, the Outdoor Guys examined Florida’s “red tide,” but today they are checking in on the Old North State’s blue and green toxic algae (actually a microorganism) which has been developing in warm, stagnant water, even here in the Queen City. How do we humans keep our pets, especially dogs, safe from the negative effects which can arise from swimming in and drinking this contaminated water? Bill and Don check in with Dr. Tom Watson from the Carolina Veterinary Medical Hospital here in Charlotte to find out, as well as to glean some other tips for keeping safe and healthy (for pets and humans) in this summer heat.
