Double Door Inn is Celebrated with Jay Ahuja

Segment 3, December 16th, 2023

There is a quote in a documentary, created in Charlotte: “Good Music & A Good Place to play it…bring people together.”

The Executive Producer of that documentary, Jay Ahuja, Ahuja Daddy Productions, was one of the creators of the documentary, Live From the Double Door.  The Double Door Tavern opened in December of 1973 at 216 E. Independence here in CLT.  This was right around the corner from the local outdoor store that had just recently opened called Jesse Brown’s.

The Double Door Inn had a forty-three year run before closing to progress in the area.  The property was taken over by CPCC but the Double Door still lives in the hearts of people that went there. .

Bill Bartee from the Charlotte outdoor store, Jesse Brown’s & host of the Carolina Outdoors had a chance to speak with Jay Ahuja about an upcoming celebration of the Double Door Inn’s opening.
