A dry fall then a lot of winter rain. Warm temperatures then a slight bit of cold, then extremely warm temperatures. What’s that mean for our lakes, farm ponds, and the bass that live in them? What does it mean for the anglers that are pursuing them from boats or shore? Christian Giglia from Jesse Brown’s joins the program to share what’s happening with these fish.
He grew up fishing the lakes and ponds of the Charlotte area. He’s also fished throughout both Carolinas & the country.
WHAT WE LEARN:
- Bass are more lethargic in the winter time
- Locate rocks and structure
- Slow your retrieve
- Use smaller lures & baits
- Warm weather can create an early spawn
